ASCO Aerospace Manufacturing Facility

ASCO Facility

Stillwater, OK

PEC provided mechanical, electrical, structural, and civil engineering services to convert an existing building into a new plant to manufacture aerospace parts. Design included leading edge slat mechanisms, trailing edge flap supports, and critical structural components and assemblies for the fuselage including spars, ribs, bulkheads, profiles, and frames.

Manufacturing capabilities included machining of steel, aluminum, and titanium, heat treatment, surface treatments, paint, assembly.

Mechanical engineering design included design for a compressed air system, HVAC replacement for general production space, HVAC system in the coordinate measuring machine (CMM), room with tight specifications for temperature and humidity, revisions to the natural gas distribution system, ventilation for the paint lines.

Electrical engineering design included additional electrical unit substation, electrical distribution from existing substations, final electrical connectors to production equipment, building lighting modifications, arc flash study for the entire building.

Structural engineering design included: new foundations for multiple milling machines, new bridge cranes throughout the facility, vibration isolation for the new CMM, column removal and replacement, containment structures for the process lines.

Civil engineering services included new stormwater drains and paving around a new exterior chemical storage tank installation.
