Dolese Bros. Co. Headquarters & Customer Support Service Center

Oklahoma City, OK

PEC collaborated with Butzer Architects & Urbanism to design this WELL-certified structure for Dolese Bros. Co. Corporate Headquarters and call center. The facility was designed with all 10 “WELL” concepts and features in mind and was the first building in OKC to become WELL-certified.

The building design features natural lighting throughout the workspaces. It includes automated window shades working in tandem with daylight harvesting systems, which harmonize the daylight and electric light with dimming to create an open, organic ambiance. In addition, the centralized lighting control system allows facility engineers to receive data on room usage, energy consumption, daylight harvesting, and automated reporting on the lifecycle status of LED lighting fixtures building-wide.

The most impressive part of this 3-story structure is the “building within a building” concept, referred to as the “Gem.” The “Gem” is a three-story self-contained atrium with a wall that fades from color to color depending on the mood or event. The Gem houses the logistics and mission control center, conferences and training spaces, and an employee lounge, all of which utilize PEC’s advanced A/V and telecommunications designs and installation completed by Corey’s Audio Visual.

The A/V system utilizes Crestrons State of the Art A/V over IP technology as a design basis. In addition, a white noise system runs throughout the open office areas to help give employees a sharper focus, improve memory function, and boost creativity, as well as the executive offices and conference rooms to help mask sound for confidential conversations.

The video wall in the command center allows the mission control team to track where trucks are and see weather reports from those locations to ensure the safety of drivers at all times. The conference room one floor above includes two motorized dropdown TVs and projectors, which remain hidden in the metal slat ceiling when not used.

To establish a safe, secure space for the employees of Dolese, PEC designed a custom access control, security, and CCTV system.
