Saint Francis Cancer Center Expansion

Project Profile

Tulsa, OK

One of the leading cancer centers in the Midwest, the Saint Francis Cancer Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma provides cancer patients with comprehensive care management plans and outpatient treatment. Over the years, there was a growing need to expand the Center to accommodate more patients and increase patient comfort.

The existing building needed major infrastructure updates and a remodel. An infusion area was renovated with multiple linear accelerators that provide cutting-edge cancer treatment for patient experience. The pharmacy, X-ray room, and reception desk was also expanded, while all new finishes throughout the existing building provided an updated look. The new 22,000 SF addition houses the radiation oncology departments, two procedure rooms, a CT/SIM room, multiple examination rooms, and support services.

Due to the facility enhancements, the electrical system needed to be reworked, and a new electrical service and generator was installed as well as two large air-handling units. The timeline of the project presented a unique challenge as the new building had to be built out while keeping the existing electrical utility transformer in service long enough for the new transformer to be installed.

With the new addition and remodel of its existing facility, the Saint Francis Cancer Center can expand and offer healthcare services to the growing part of South Tulsa and Broken Arrow Communities.
