Located at Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport in Wichita, KS, the Yingling Aviation design-build project consisted of a pre-engineered metal building with a maintenance hangar. The 22,000 SF facility includes a hangar and support spaces for the Owner.

The Class I Div 2 hangar was protected with a closed head wet-pipe fire sprinkler system with a trench drain and containment basin. The containment basin shared with B-29 Doc Hangar Education and Visitor Center was constructed next to Yingling by the same Contractor. The hangar was heated, ventilated, and included underground exhaust of below grade pits. The Owner selected LED for lighting and service pedestals with power and compressed air located in six locations around the hangar. Support spaces include a cart dump area and plumbing fixture, backshops, parts storage, drum storage, and interior storage spaces as well as office space.
