Andover 13th Street Sports Park

Project Profile

Andover, KS

First opened in the 1980s, the 13th Street Sports Park was ready to be refreshed for the citizens of Andover. As part of the Andover Parks & Recreation Playbook 2030 for a phased redevelopment plan, the community wanted the park to have the facilities to host sports events and neighborhood activities. In November 2021, the citizens of Andover voted for a one-cent sales tax increase that would fund significant improvements to the existing 13th Street Sports Park.

The project includes five new ballfields, a great lawn, concessions/restroom building, picnic shelter, destination splash pad, and a nature path as well as tennis, sand volleyball, and pickleball courts. A feature of the park is the large handicap accessible playground that is open all year. The complex is rounded out with the Grant Nelson Memorial basketball court that is available for all to use.

With the variety of amenities at the 13th Street Sports Park, the complex is sure to be a go-to park for citizens of Andover and surrounding communities as well as an exciting stop for out-of-town visitors.
