Joint Base Lewis-McChord Army Reserve Center

Project Profile

Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA

The Joint Base Lewis–McChord (JBLM) is the largest Army-led joint base in the United States and is the only Army Power Projection Platform west of the Rocky Mountains. The new 1,200-member Army Reserve Center includes a Training Center building, Organization Maintenance Shop (OMS), and an Unheated Storage (UHS) building.

Due to the unusual northwest climate, this project provided PEC the opportunity to design innovative sustainable and energy savings features including transpiring solar collectors, large expanses of energy efficient glass to enhance daylighting, and a ground water source heat recovery chiller.

This base facility supports the training of thousands of American soldiers. With its sustainable design, it is making a lower impact on our planet while readying our troops.
