Broken Arrow & PEC: Building Together for a Stronger Tomorrow
Engineering is more than just designing structures. At Professional Engineering Consultants (PEC), strengthening communities and fostering relationships is at the core of what we do. Our work in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, reflects our commitment through innovation and meaningful partnerships.
Creating Spaces and Memories
One of PEC’s most notable projects in Broken Arrow is the Challenger Sports Complex. This 40-acre hub of recreation was completed in 2020. As part of the larger Events Park, this complex includes six adult softball fields, one adaptive-use field, shaded pavilions, concessions space, food truck areas, open lawns, and much more. This space now hosts teams from all over the region for tournaments that create lasting memories for players, coaches, and families alike.
This project was about more than just sports and local athletes. PEC carefully considered the impacts on the local wildlife and their environment during the planning of the complex. The park features multiple wetlands, ponds, and streams for the whole community to enjoy.
Making an Impact
PEC is involved with several initiatives in the Broken Arrow community. This summer, our Tulsa office collected 685 pounds of food and household goods to donate to Broken Arrow Neighbors. The organization supports the community by providing much-needed food and household goods to thousands of people each year.
The team also remains dedicated to working with Broken Arrow Public Schools to promote STEM programs and support women in STEM. Being active in the local schools builds a solid network and encourages students to consider careers such as engineering.
Looking to the Future
PEC’s relationships in Broken Arrow are strong and continue to grow. There is a current effort to rehabilitate North Aspen Avenue, with our team partnering on the project. PEC is providing municipal transportation and water/wastewater services to the ongoing project.
Coming up in 2026, Broken Arrow is looking to pass an approximately $400 million general obligation bond to help fund a number of projects. Our Tulsa office has worked closely with City officials to develop a scope of that work and are discussing how it can help better the community.
The work we do and relationships we are fostering in Broken Arrow allow us to live out PEC’s core values every day. When we live in and participate in our local communities, these commitments are about more than just a job.
