Choosing the right university can be a daunting ordeal. At Wichita State University (WSU), the goal is to make that process as welcoming and informative as possible. With the renovation and expansion of the Marcus Welcome Center, guests can see the high value WSU places on making prospective students and parents feel at home.

The 5,500 SF renovation includes updated spaces for classrooms, the lobby, corridor spaces, and support services. In addition, the 6,100 SF expansion offers office spaces, study/work areas, lobby space, and additional room for support services. The meeting rooms offer areas large enough to host business and industry career fairs as well as space for interviews. Another feature is the newly created History Walk that takes visitors through the history of the university. PEC provided engineering design services to support the expansion of the building, modifications to existing systems for remodeled areas, and replacement/expansion of the building heating plant.

Admissions, career services, and applied learning services are now in one central and accessible hub. Whether a new student is walking onto campus for the first time or a current student needs guidance on their degree plan, they can utilize the resources in the Marcus Welcome Center to help.
