Arc City Goff Tower Rehabilitation
The City of Arkansas City has an existing 500,000-gallon composite water tower called Goff Tower. It is located in the City’s North Pressure Zone and is directly adjacent to the City’s top water user, Creekstone Farms.
The tower needed rehabilitation and recoating work. To allow for work to occur on the tower, Professional Engineering Consultants (PEC) previously designed the pump station that supplies the North Pressure Zone with variable frequency drives (VFD). These VFDs allow the tower to be taken out of service while maintaining normal operations in the North Pressure Zone. Once the tower was taken out of service while maintaining normal operations in the North Pressure Zone. Once the tower was taken out of service, rehabilitation, and recoating work were completed.
Because of the proximity of the tower to Creekstone Farms and the positive economic impact they have on the community, the City coordinated with Creekstone Farms to develop a combined logo to be placed on the tower. PEC provided design and construction administration services for the project.
