Project Description:

Construction of one public water supply well with a pitless unit, approximately 280 feet of new waterline to tie the new well into the existing piping within an existing wellhouse, and a new access drive to the new well.

Bidding Documents will be shipped only if the requesting party assumes responsibility for all related shipping charges. Corporate, certified, or cashier’s checks shall be made payable to Drexel Technologies.

Prospective Bidders are urged to register with Drexel Technologies as a plan holder, even if Bidding Documents are obtained from a plan room or source other than Drexel Technologies in either electronic or paper format. Drexel Technologies will be updated periodically with addenda, lists of registered plan holders, reports, and other information relevant to submitting a Bid for the Project. All official notifications, addenda, and other Bidding Documents will be offered only through Drexel Technologies. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for Bidding Documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than Drexel Technologies.

Site visits shall be scheduled no later than 7 calendar days prior to the bid opening. Site visits shall be for reviewing site conditions only; any questions shall be sent to the Engineer in writing at least seven days prior to bid opening per Section 02 21 00.

The City, in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d-4 and 49 CFR Part 21, Nondiscrimination in Federally-Assisted Programs of the Department of Transportation issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises as defined at 49 CFR Part 26 will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, national origin, or sex in consideration for an award.

Bidders on this work will be required to comply with the President’s Executive Order No. 11246.  Requirements for bidders and contractors under this order are explained in the specifications.

Bids for the construction of PWS Well No. 32 (Sandhill Well No. 1 Offset) will be received via private parcel service or hand delivery at the office of the City of Garden City located at 140 Harvest Street, Garden City, Kansas 67846, or via U.S. Mail at PO Box 998, Garden City, KS 67846 until July 8^th, 2024, at 2:00pm local time. At that time the Bids will be publicly opened and read.
