When Mercy set out to create a new destination for digestive healthcare, the goal was simple: make it easier for people across Oklahoma and the surrounding region to access specialized care in one place. The Kathryn Ann Digestive Health Institute does just that.

For Professional Engineering Consultants (PEC), the project was an opportunity to lead the way and add valuable resources to this local community. Located on the Mercy Hospital Oklahoma City campus, the 52,000 SF facility is the only comprehensive healthcare center dedicated exclusively to digestive health within 500 miles of Oklahoma City.

The facility includes an ambulatory surgery center, 7 procedure rooms, 21 prep and recovery rooms, specialty clinics for inflammatory bowel disease and liver care, a motility lab, patient education space, administrative offices, and a chapel. Combining these services under a single roof creates a more connected experience for patients while providing a welcoming environment focused on healing, education, and long-term wellness.

This new institute expands access to care, supports better patient experiences, and strengthens healthcare resources for Oklahoma City and communities across the region. By investing in specialized healthcare close to home, Mercy is helping more patients get the care they need when they need it more.
