Advocating for Communities
PEC has provided comprehensive, multi-discipline engineering services to municipalities for nearly six decades. Our team tackles every project from a holistic perspective and an environmentally sound mindset, looking out for the best interests of the project as a whole and not just our part. Our dedicated areas of service relevant to municipalities include:
- Transportation
- Sewer Systems
- Water Systems
- Water/ Wastewater Treatment
- Stormwater/Drainage/ Floodplain Studies
- New Buildings and Renovations
- Project Management
Our methodology for providing advice and services to municipalities is an interactive team effort consisting of key staff members from the city and PEC. This communication and interaction between us and city management, staff, and policy-making boards is critical in identifying project goals and developing alternatives that best fit the city’s needs. This approach has been improved with each project and is a proven strategy for producing quality projects and satisfying clients. Based on experience, a primary and a backup point-of-contact provide better service and make our team more responsive to your needs. In order to best serve your city and to further develop our relationship with city staff, we will attend staff and city council meetings as needed.

We are knowledgeable in policies and regulations, as well as the state and federal requirements and codes that must be adhered to for city projects. In addition, we have more than 53 years of experience working on projects with federal funding. We know the paperwork and requirements involved. PEC will assist with the preparation and administration of all local, state, and federal forms, certifications, and assurances required. Our experience and relationships with federal and state staff help make the process seamless. We understand the importance of verification and documentation of government processes that tie into funding requests.
We are familiar with and have assisted in applying and determining funds for numerous projects with Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), rural development, Transportation Enhancements (TE), and other funding programs. We will assist with federal and state grant applications, permits, environmental impact studies, and other technical documents related to consulting engineering or planning projects. Our commitment to safety guides the way we think and work. Our processes heighten awareness, provide accountability, and ensure that our work complies with governmental and industry regulations.
