Since 1990, Professional Engineering Consultants, P.A. has been providing quality engineering design and support services to meet the requirements of the Dillons Super Stores. PEC staff members from the Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental, Transportation and Survey Divisions continue to meet the design criteria of Dillons through innovative technology.

Over the years, PEC has been involved on various project assignments with Dillons Stores located in cities across the state of Kansas such as Dodge City, Manhattan, Topeka, Iola, Derby, El Dorado, Liberal and several locations in Wichita; and also in Jefferson City and Springfield, Missouri.

The Dillons Stores range in size from 48,000 SF to 80,000 SF. Some of these Stores have expanded the kitchen area, video store area and deli area, while others have been recently constructed. The Dillons Store in Liberal, Kansas was previously an Alco Store. PEC provided the engineering design to retrofit this facility for a grocery store.

PEC understands and complies with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment requirements. PEC also has working relationships with the utility companies in regards to the placement of telephone, gas, water and sewer lines.

PEC’s design responsibilities for various Dillons locations included working drawings and specifications, design and drafting for the HVAC systems, design and drafting for the above ground and under floor plumbing piping, electrical power circuiting, lighting, service entrance, Air and Water Balance Services for the HVAC systems.

PEC also designed the site work, paving, site grading and drainage improvements, including building pad elevations, pavement elevations, stormwater, sewers, water and paving as required for local government approval.

PEC provided surveying to establish property corners, cross-sections to determine existing elevations, and detailed elevations where proposed pavement joins existing pavement. Survey Services were in accordance with the ALTA requirements.

PEC has also completed Traffic Impact Studies and Community Unit Plans for various Dillons Stores in Wichita.
